Original Paintings

Exceptional tennis art for collectors

Our collection of original tennis paintings brings together one-of-a-kind works inspired by the game, its history and its most iconic moments. Each painting is made by hand by our artists, in oil or acrylic on canvas, and exists in a single example, signed and sold with a certificate of authenticity.
These are the originals from which we produce our limited editions of fine art prints and canvas prints. To own the original is to own the source: the real texture of the paint, the movement of the brush and the physical presence that no reproduction can fully capture.
For a collector, an original tennis painting is more than decoration. It is a distinctive piece for a home, an office or a gallery wall, and a work with genuine collectable value. Browse the paintings currently available below.

How does an original painting differ from a reproduction?

An original painting is a hand-painted, one-of-a-kind work bearing the artist’s signature. Once sold, it will never be repeated in the same form. A reproduction (a fine art print or a canvas) is a printed copy of the original, released in a numbered, limited edition. An original has a single owner, while a reproduction has 25 to 100 owners at the same time.

How much does an original tennis painting cost?

Prices for SVA originals start at 400 € and can reach 899 € or more, depending on the artist, the size, the technique (oil, acrylic) and the time spent creating the work. The price includes the painting, a certificate of authenticity and insured shipping. Each original is priced individually. You will find the full list of available works with prices in the original paintings category.

What exactly does the certificate of authenticity include?

The certificate includes the title of the work, the artist’s name, the date it was created and the artist’s signature.

How is an original packed for shipping?

Originals are packed in a special, rigid shipping box with a foam insert, an extra layer of bubble wrap and corner guards that protect the edges of the painting. They are sent by insured courier (DHL Premium), with a delivery time of 3 to 5 business days.

Can I see the original before buying?

Yes. We offer a video call with the painting (Zoom, WhatsApp or Google Meet), which you can arrange by email or phone. During the call you can view the piece from different angles and in different lighting, and ask the artist any questions. For international buyers we also send high-resolution photographs of the painting taken in natural light.

Can the value of an original painting rise over time?

The value of original artworks is a matter of the gallery market. It depends on how an artist’s career develops, their presence in solo and group exhibitions, and the collecting history of their work. SVA does not guarantee any increase in value. Treat an original work as buying art for the pleasure of it, not as a financial investment.

Is the original also available as a reproduction?

At SVA, some originals are also available as limited reproductions, a fine art print on paper and a canvas print. Each form is a separate product with its own edition and price. Buying the original does not remove the reproductions, but from the moment the original is sold the artist undertakes not to create another identical composition in the same form. Check the individual product page: for each original we state whether reproductions are available.

How does SVA verify the authenticity of originals?

Every SVA original comes directly from the artist, with whom we have a collaboration agreement. We do not buy paintings on the secondary market or at auctions. Each work is documented in photographs and video at various stages of its creation (the first sketch, an intermediate stage, the final version). You can see the photographs and videos on the product page and on our social media channels.
