Court Philippe-Chatrier, Sunday, June 8, 2025. After five hours and 29 minutes of play, Carlos Alcaraz beat Jannik Sinner 4-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, 7-6 in the longest final in the 130-plus-year history of Roland Garros.
If you had to choose three tennis matches whose drama, magic, and artistry qualify them to be immortalized in paint on canvas, this one would almost certainly be among them. So Marta Bazan, an artist working with Serve and Volley Art, faced a challenge: how do you properly capture the singularity of that moment on Court Philippe-Chatrier?
Although the composition began digitally, the final original is 100% the artist’s handwork. The drawing was transferred by hand onto the original paper, and its unique texture comes from alcohol markers laid down in layers together with traditional colored pencils.
To carry that craftsmanship perfectly onto the product, the artwork is printed on exclusive Hahnemühle cotton canvas (365 g/m²). This surface corresponds beautifully with the traditional texture of the original, offering a deeply matte finish and a natural structure.

Marta Bazan
Marta is an illustrator in love with colour, shape, line and pattern. She makes light-hearted illustrations saturated with a boundless palette of colour. In everyday life she values restraint, but in her work what matters most are countless details, colour and light. She loves drawing playful characters, architecture and still lifes. Her aim is to bring a smile to the people who see her work, the little ones and the fully grown alike. She keeps pushing her skills to come closer to her own idea of perfection: the imagination and lightness of a child.“Engineering turned out to be too serious and marketing too pushy, so going back to a teenage passion was a bullseye.”She works in traditional media, with a few small exceptions, now and then swapping gouache for a tablet. More and more she reaches for markers or coloured pencils, which give her even more freedom and more room to play with form and texture. She adores retro book and magazine illustration, but in truth she finds most of her inspiration in everyday life: people she meets by chance, colourful fashion and travel. No, she does not play tennis, but she is brilliant at cheering from the stands and in front of the television. .

Our canvas prints are stretched on wooden stretcher frames, which makes them quick to hang in several ways. Choose the method that best suits your wall:
Traditional methods (these need drilling or nails):
- Hooks and sawtooth hangers: metal fittings screwed to the frame that hook over a nail or screw.
- Directly on the frame: you can hang the canvas by resting the top edge of the stretcher frame straight onto a nail.
- Wall plugs: needed for concrete walls and heavier canvases to keep everything fully secure.
No-drill methods (non-invasive):
- Hook-and-loop strips and mounting tape: let you hang the canvas without damaging the wall (for example Command strips). They hold up to a few kilograms.
- Self-adhesive hooks: ideal for plaster and wallpaper (for example the tesa brand). They often have a height adjustment, which makes it easy to level the piece.

Strips of the composition are visible on the sides, which reinforces the piece’s character as a finished art object that needs no frame.
